Whether you are new to the academic community or have studied in Higher Education before, academic excellence is the level you will be striving to achieve. If this is your goal, then ACE is the place to come.

THE ACE TEAM

The ACE (Academic Community of Excellence) Team provide academic guidance and support to students in a number of ways.

ONLINE WORKSHOPS

ACE workshops cover three categories:

  • Maths and Excel
  • Computing
  • Study Skills

There are a range of different topics within these categories, at introductory, intermediate and advanced levels.

The workshop schedule can be viewed on your VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) where you will find a link and instructions on how to register.

ONE-TO-ONE & SMALL GROUP APPOINTMENTS

Book a 30 minute appointment in-person or online to discuss your academic development including:

  • Getting Started with your Studies
  • Essential Digital Skills
  • Structuring your work

Plus many other topics depending on your requirements.

SELF-ACCESS LEARNING MATERIALS

Available on your VLE when you need them, these guides have been created based on common questions and academic needs.

Topics include:

  • Academic writing skills
  • Criticality
  • Avoiding plagiarism
  • Maths
  • Computing
  • Reflective writing
