WHAT OUR STUDENTS SAY
"The first step in helping me was the immediate response to my issue. The manner in which they offered the help, not being forced but given options either to receive a phone call or by email. It is beneficial for a student in emotional distress to express his own feelings without being judged. I felt more confident and encouraged all the way. Using a calm tone of voice, and allowing me to take my time, contributed to regaining my confidence and strength to go forward. Thank you is not enough to express my appreciation for the support."
"I felt very supported throughout, not once did I feel rushed or made to feel that my concerns were not valid. I probably wouldn't have made it to the completion of this first semester of my second year if i hadn't had the support and reassurance that I received from the welfare team"
"I needed someone to just listen and that was exactly what they did; she was reassuring and I felt like I needed that push to help me make a decision and I’m glad I did."
"In a time where I needed support and consistency, they were that. I cannot explain how much that means to me. Also, they reminded me of the help available and when it came time for me to ask for an assignment extension, they supported the application and it made the difference. I would have FAILED my second semester without the support from the welfare service, but I passed! They always said that I can call when I needed help or just a listening ear, but they called me anyway every few weeks and checked on me. I will forever be grateful, thank you."
